Next week is the ASU/UofU Composition Exchange Round I. The Utah kiddos will come to ASU after we (four selected students from ASU) visit UofU in Salt Lake City. My office buddy, Kurt Mehlenbacher (http://kurticus.com/), Kim Olsteen, Chris the Undergrad and myself were chosen this year to present a piece and have a work performed in Salt Lake. To even apply for this thing, I honestly did a quick instrument switch between viola (original) and cello in my piece THREE (originally for viola, clarinet and piano). And the ol’ switcher-o worked! I am A) slightly nervous about my presentation and B) slightly jaded from my last visit to Utah. As soon as I figure out how to effectively add it to this post, an awesome Power Point will follow.
